    Dr. Annie Walker received her DVM from Michigan State University in 1996. Originally from Royal Oak, Michigan Dr. Walker came to California in 1996 and has been providing outstanding veterinary care at VCA Holly Street Animal Hospital for over 12 years. When not working, she enjoys helping out her daughter's school, gardening, hiking with her horse, running and skiing. Dr. Walker lives in Redwood City with her husband, daughter, three cats and one dog.

    Dr. James Bower received his degree from Michigan State University and pursued advanced study at the University of Pennsylvania as a small animal intern and the University of California at Davis as a resident in small animal internal medicine. Following completion of these advanced studies, he became a certified specialist in small animal internal medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). Dr. Bower has particular interests in gastrointestinal and respiratory problems of dogs and cats. He has extensive experience in ultrasound and endoscopic diagnosis and provides consultation services at VCA Holly Street Animal Hospital as well as by referral from local veterinarians on the Peninsula. Dr. Bower has practiced in San Francisco and the Peninsula for 30 years and joined VCA Holly Street Animal Hospital to continue providing primary care and referral internal medicine services. Special Interests: Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Kidney Disease, Endoscopic and Ultrasound diagnosis of diseases of dogs and cats. .

  • Megan Blasier Duvall

    DVM

    Dr. Megan Blasier Duvall (who practices as Dr. Blasier) graduated in 2003 from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed internships in small animal medicine, emergency and surgery at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC as well as zoo, exotic, and wildlife medicine at the University of Georgia. Dr. Blasier worked in emergency/referral practices, and also at the Georgia Aquarium prior to joining VCA Holly Street Animal Hospital in 2007. If you have a pet penguin, please let her know. She is happy to see your rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats as well as your cats and dogs. Dr. Blasier lives in Half Moon Bay with her husband, two kitties (Merlin and Gretta - in no particular order), and her amazingly adorable baby boys.

    In 2009 Dr. Dean graduated from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2010 she joined VCA Holly Street shortly after completing a year-long formal, small animal rotating internship at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists (SFVS). At SFVS, she had the benefit of both excellent mentorship and exposure to one of the highest case loads in the San Francisco Bay Area. This has afforded her the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and specialists. Furthermore, the significant amount of primary emergency service responsibilities allowed her to strengthen her clinical skills, work independently as well as develop stronger client communication skills. She currently resides in Burlingame with her husband Masao, infant Sofia and Ridgeback/hound mix Linus. In her spare time she enjoys playing the guitar, running and eating lots of desserts. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam and her parents immigrated to the United States in 1980. She grew up in Northern Virginia and shortly after graduating from the University of Virginia, she joined a technology consulting firm in San Francisco. She traveled along the entire west coast, providing Microsoft technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies. After six years as a consultant she realized that she has a passion for working with animals and people and pursued a career in veterinary medicine. .

  • Jessie Yick

    Dr. Jessie Yick received her bachelor's from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2005 and graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA with her veterinary degree in 2010. She then completed an optional, year-long small animal medicine/surgery internship at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center and joined VCA Holly Street Animal Hospital soon afterwards. She currently resides in Redwood City with her boyfriend, and her "farm" which includes "BZ" a Lab-Pit, "Magnus" a Great Dane-English Mastiff and "Stunner", a domestic short hair tabby. In her spare time she enjoys running, hitting the gym and working as an independent stylist. Originally from the Belmont/San Carlos area, she has been with the VCA family for several years as she was a technician at another peninsula VCA hospital off and on since 2001. She is happy to be back home near her friends and family while pursuing her life-long dream as a veterinarian.
